B.Ed Entrance Exam – 100 MCQs | Teaching Aptitude, General Awareness, Reasoning for B.Ed CET

B.Ed Entrance Exam – 100 MCQs (Teaching Aptitude, General Awareness, Reasoning)

(My Real Study Notes – simple and honest)

So, when I started preparing for B.Ed entrance, I thought this section would be easy. Like teaching aptitude… general awareness… reasoning… sounds basic, right?

But when I actually started solving MCQs, I realized — it’s not difficult, but it can be tricky. Especially reasoning part 😅

So I’m writing this the same way I prepared. Not like a topper or expert, just like a normal student trying to understand things step by step.

1. Teaching Aptitude

This part is actually interesting. It’s more about how you think as a teacher.

When I first studied this, I thought I just need to memorize definitions. But later I understood — it’s more about common sense + situation understanding.

What comes in this section?

  • Role of teacher
  • Student-teacher relationship
  • Teaching methods
  • Classroom situations

How I understood it:

Instead of mugging up theory, I started thinking like this:

“If I were a teacher, what would I do?”

One example:

If a student is weak in class, what should teacher do?

Options may be:

  • Punish
  • Ignore
  • Help and guide

Obviously, correct answer is helping and guiding.

So most questions are like this — practical thinking.

A simple trick I use:

Choose the most positive and student-friendly option

In most cases, that’s the correct answer.

My small opinion:

Teaching aptitude is not about marks only. It actually shows what kind of teacher you can become.

And honestly, I like this part more because it feels real.

2. General Awareness

Okay, this part… I used to ignore earlier. Big mistake 😐

Because questions come from anywhere:

  • History
  • Geography
  • Current affairs
  • Basic science

What I did:

I didn’t try to read everything. Instead:

  • Focused on basic static GK
  • Read current affairs daily (even 10 minutes)

Example topics:

  • Important days
  • Capitals and countries
  • Indian history basics
  • Awards and schemes

My trick:

I connected things instead of memorizing.

For example: If I learn about a country, I also learn its capital.

So one topic gives 2–3 answers.

One relatable example:

Sometimes questions are like: “Capital of Odisha?”

Very basic. But in exam stress, we overthink.

So I learned to trust simple answers.

My honest advice:

Don’t try to become GK master. Just focus on important topics and revise.

3. Reasoning (Logical Ability)

This is the section that scared me at first 😅

Series, coding-decoding, puzzles… my brain used to stop working.

But after practice, it became manageable.

Common topics:

  • Number series
  • Coding-decoding
  • Analogy
  • Odd one out
  • Blood relation

How I improved:

At first, I was getting many wrong answers. But I didn’t stop.

I started solving 10–15 questions daily.

Slowly, patterns became clear.

One simple trick:

In number series: Check differences between numbers.

Example: 2, 4, 8, 16 → pattern = multiply by 2

Coding-decoding trick:

Try to find letter pattern.

Example: A = 1, B = 2 type logic

One relatable thing:

Reasoning is like puzzle game.
At first confusing, but once you get it, it feels fun.

How I Practice MCQs

Earlier, I was only reading theory. But honestly, nothing stayed in my mind.

Then I changed my method:

  • Study a topic
  • Solve MCQs
  • Check answers
  • Revise mistakes

This helped me a lot.

Sample MCQs (Practice)

Here are some basic types I practiced:

1. Teaching aptitude:
A good teacher should?
→ Answer: Guide students

2. General awareness:
Capital of India?
→ New Delhi

3. Reasoning:
Find next number: 2, 4, 6, 8
→ 10

4. Analogy:
Teacher : School :: Doctor : ?
→ Hospital

5. Odd one out:
Apple, Banana, Car, Mango
→ Car

My Personal Study Tips

These are from my real experience:

1. Don’t underestimate easy topics

They look simple but can be tricky.

2. Practice daily

Even 20 MCQs is enough.

3. Focus on accuracy

Don’t rush for speed first.

4. Revise mistakes

This is very important.

One Small Insight

While preparing this section, I realized something…

Teaching aptitude and reasoning are not just for exam.
They actually improve how we think.

Like:

  • Making better decisions
  • Understanding situations

So it’s useful beyond exam also.

One More Thing

General awareness is not about one-day study.
It builds slowly.

Even if you study 10 minutes daily, it helps.

Final Thoughts

B.Ed entrance exam is not about hard study only. It’s about smart study.

This section (Teaching Aptitude + GA + Reasoning) is scoring if you practice properly.

At first, you may feel confused. I also felt the same.

But with regular practice, things improve.

MCQ Practice Rules (What I Follow)

  • Read question carefully
  • Don’t rush
  • Eliminate wrong options
  • Don’t guess blindly
  • Learn from mistakee
