SSC CGL 50 MCQ Online Test – Free Mock Quiz (My Practice Experience)
So, I recently started preparing seriously for SSC CGL, and one thing I realized very quickly… just reading notes is not enough 😅
I was feeling confident after studying, but when I gave my first mock test, my score was not good at all. That’s when I understood — mock tests are the real game.
So here I’m sharing how I practice 50 MCQ tests and how you can also improve your score step by step.
Why 50 MCQ Test is Important
When I first heard about mock tests, I thought I’ll give it later after completing syllabus. Big mistake.
Because:
- You don’t understand exam pressure
- You don’t know your weak areas
- Time management becomes difficult
My small realization:
Study shows you what you know
Mock test shows you how much you can score
Both are different.
How I Attempt 50 MCQ Test
Earlier, I used to solve randomly. Now I follow a simple strategy.
Step 1: Start with easy questions
When I open the test, I quickly scan questions.
- Easy → attempt first
- Medium → second round
- Tough → last
This saves time and builds confidence.
Step 2: Don’t get stuck
This was my biggest mistake.
I used to spend 3–4 minutes on one question.
Now my rule is:
If not solved in 30–40 seconds → skip
Step 3: Keep track of time
For 50 questions, I divide time like:
- First round → 60% time
- Second round → 30%
- Review → 10%

How I Calculate My Score
After test, I always check:
- Correct answers
- Wrong answers
- Accuracy
My simple formula:
Accuracy = (Correct / Attempted) × 100
This helped me improve a lot.
Mistakes I Made (You Avoid)
1. Guessing too much
I thought more attempts = more marks
But negative marking reduces score.
2. Ignoring weak topics
I used to skip tough topics
Now I focus more on them.
3. No analysis
Earlier I just checked score and left
Now I analyze mistakes.
One Small Insight
I noticed something interesting.
Even after studying same syllabus, two students get different marks.
Why?
Because:
- One practices MCQs
- Other only reads
So practice makes real difference.
My Personal Routine
I keep it simple:
- Daily 1 mock test (50 MCQs)
- Analyze mistakes
- Revise weak areas
Even 1–2 hours daily is enough.
One Relatable Example
Sometimes in test, I see a question and feel: “I know this answer…”
But then I choose wrong option due to confusion.
So now I double-check before marking.
Final Thoughts
SSC CGL is not impossible.
But it needs:
- Practice
- Speed
- Accuracy
Mock tests help in all three.
